The Church of Scotland connects with different people and communities across Scotland and the world, spreading the message of the Gospels and the word of God, and playing an important role in people's lives.

Our local churches have a key role in doing this amongst their communities and the Church supports them in several ways. It provides leadership development to help congregations learn and move deeper into their knowledge and experience of God.

The Church also spreads its message in many other ways, reaching out beyond its usual buildings into different communities and places, such as the Emerging Church initiative, or encouring congregations to break away from established worship structures, such as Church without Walls.

The Church works ecumenically with other Christian denominations and works together with other faiths and beliefs.
