The Heart and Soul Swing Band - seen each year at the Heart and Soul Festival during the General Assembly - will be performing in Hamilton next month

St John's Church in Hamilton is hosting a fundraising concert in aid of the Church of Scotland's HIV Programme on Friday, March 6.

Students in the music department at Hamilton Grammar School will be among the performers, along with the Heart and Soul Swing Band who can be seen each year during the General Assembly in Edinburgh.

Rev Joanne Hood, who is a minister at St John's Church and member of the Heart and Soul Swing Band, said: "We are delighted to host this evening, and to do what we can to support the work of the unique Church of Scotland HIV Programme.

"It is currently supporting over 30 projects at home and abroad, and the concert should help to raise some much-needed funds. We are very grateful to the local high school for their willingness to take part in this worthwhile cause."

The Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt Rev John Chalmers, will be in attendance to say a few words about the HIV Programme.

The concert begins at 7.30pm and entry is free, with donations invited for the Church of Scotland HIV Programme. All are welcome.
