Last chance to register for the National Youth Assembly

Registrations for the National Youth Assembly—to be held August 19-22 at Gartmore House—will close Monday 18 July. Young adults who want to attend should book one of the few spaces available now.

One of the worst-hit districts is Nsanje where Christian Aid runs a Scottish Government-funded Climate Justice Project.

Church backs urgent appeal for Malawi

The Church of Scotland's World Mission Council is urging church members to support a new Christian Aid Appeal for Malawi, launched today. The appeal comes as 6.5 million people in Malawi are facing food shortages because of failed harvests across the region.

Visitors to the Dunblane Fling and the Dunblane and Doune Show came away with some unexpected gifts. St Blane's Church of Scotland linked with Lecropt Kirk had a stall at both events, where they gave away "bags of blessing" to more than 350 people.

The Moderator has addressed the annual service at the Scottish National War Memorial on the 'deeply personal nature of war'. His address came as the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq war reported its findings.
