Andrew Sutherland

Andrew Sutherland was born in 1959 in Hawick, but quickly moved to Central Scotland where he attended Denny High School and then studied Mathematics and Music at Glasgow University, graduating in 1980. He embarked on a career with Standard Life, which resulted in heading up the credit team for Standard Life Investments.

He has been a church organist since 1974 when he was appointed at Haggs Parish Church, and was organist and choirmaster at St Michael’s Linlithgow from 1989, and now organist at Fairmilehead Parish Church in Edinburgh since 2018.

Andrew retired from Standard Life Investments in 2013 and joined the Church of Scotland Pension Schemes as a General Assembly-appointed Employer Nominated Trustee in 2014.

Married with three children and two grandchildren, Andrew maintains an interest in watching Airdrieonians and, on his many excursions to Northern Italy since retiral, Sampdoria.
