General Assembly fringe events
Hosted by Church departments and other organisations, the fringe events complement the main business of the Assembly, informing, entertaining and educating.
Our two most popular events are back: Heart and Soul will take place on Sunday 19th May and the Guild’s Big Sing is planned for Tuesday 21st May.
To learn about new resources you can attend the lunchtime events from Priority Areas Be Radical With Us, Spill The Beans, and Mission and Discipleship Council.
If you are interested in Pioneer Ministry, there will be a lunchtime discussion with the five Pilot Pioneer Ministers and an evening panel event about fresh expressions, pioneering and mission in Scotland.
There will be Alumni reunions for St Andrews University, Union Theological Seminary, Trinity College, Aberdeen Christ’s College, and New College.
You are welcome to attend presentations from Church of Scotland finance, World Mission, Go For It, Pensions, Housing and Loan Fund, General Trustees, Church Service Society, Participatory Budgeting, and Tabeetha School in Israel.
You can also meet the team of Place for Hope, explore the Social Care Council Exhibition, meet up with the Evangelical Network, attend the Irish Gathering, learn about divestment, and participate in a short service for the Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows.
Additional events will be publicised through the Commissioners’ boxes.
Please note that the lunchtime events will take place when the Assembly breaks for lunch which it is scheduled to do between 12.30 and 2pm.
Visit the Martin Hall for the Church of Scotland exhibition of resources and information, Cornerstone Bookshop and Wippell’s clerical outfitters.
The bookstall will open from 8.30am until 30 minutes after the close of business on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; until 7pm on Tuesday and on Friday from 8.30am until 3pm.
