Faith in Change and Conflict - Part 1
Place for Hope is delighted to be running the inaugural Certificate in ‘Faith in Change and Conflict’ in Scotland in September 2021 & January 2022 (two 3-day blocks, with two additional 2-hour sessions of online teaching at a date to be agreed with participants. Dates for two 2-hour sessions for online teaching input will be planned with participants to fit in between Parts 1 and 2.)
Knowing there is help and support available can be a great source of hope for those experiencing difficulties and divisions within their congregations and communities, and Place for Hope have a proven record in helping individuals and faith communities find both support and ways through the difficulties.
This advanced course is for all in leadership (ordained, lay, formal, informal) in our churches who want to deepen their learning about conflict, change and transition in faith contexts, in order to strengthen their skills base for local application.
Over the sessions, the course will cover four units:
- Unit 1: Introduction to Conflict Transformation and Personal Development
- Unit 2: Communication and Facilitation Skills
- Unit 3: Conflict and Mediation Skills
- Unit 4: Conflict in the Context of Faith
When and where will this take place?
Part 1) Monday 20th September 2021, 10am – Wednesday 23rd September 2021, 4pm
Part 2) Monday 10th January 2022, 10am – Wednesday 12th January, 4pm
The course will be delivered mid-week over two residential 3-day blocks of teaching at St Mary’s Kinnoull. The additional 2-hour teaching sessinos will take place online. Attendance is required at all blocks of training.
Cost Per Person £950 (30% deposit payable on application). Fee includes catering, accommodation and training materials
