About this event
Join YCCN and its partners at the Church of Scotland and Christian Aid to find out more about the YCCN Relay to COP26 and how you can get involved.
YCCN is an action-focused community of young Christians in the UK aged 18-30, choosing to follow Jesus in the pursuit of climate justice. The Relay to COP26 is a 1200-mile ecumenical pilgrimage across the UK to show we care about climate justice and demand that no country goes into debt because of climate change. We want to see systematic change on a global and a local scale. We hope that by running this relay, we can raise awareness of COP26 and our imperative as Christians to engage in creation care theology, individually and corporately.
The Church of Scotland recognises that climate change poses a serious and immediate threat to the wellbeing of life on this planet, particularly to disadvantaged communities across the globe, and that climate change represents a failure in our stewardship of God's creation. We want to ensure young people are equipped and supported to participate in climate justice from their homes, churches and communities while inspiring others to join them.
Christian Aid exists to create a world where everyone can live a full life free from poverty. But we cannot end poverty without addressing the climate crisis and the injustice and inequality at its roots. Our Prophetic Activist Scheme inspires, engages, and equips young adult (18-30 year old) Christians in campaigning and activism.
