Faith Will resources highlight the lasting impact of gifts in Wills

The Church of Scotland is delighted to be partnering once again this Autumn with Christian Aid and other UK denominations to encourage church members and supporters to consider gifts in Wills to their church and to Christian Aid as a powerful and practical expression of their faith.
Faith Will offers practical tools to congregations to highlight the impact of gifts in Wills within the life of our congregations and our partner agency, Christian Aid.
Around one third of Church of Scotland congregations benefitted from legacy gifts in 2023. This enabled our churches to have a greater impact in our communities, and for the faith and values of the givers to live on.
Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland Rt Rev Dr Shaw J Paterson said: "I know from my own experience in the parish of the difference that gifts in wills can make in helping to support work that wouldn't otherwise be possible.
"I would encourage churches to engage with Faith Will and to share with confidence this message of faith-inspired giving."
Faith Will is a joint venture with Christian Aid, involving the Church of Scotland, Church of England, United Reformed Church and Quakers in Britain.
More than 200 churches from across the UK signed up to receive the Faith Will resources last year. The aim in 2024 is to double that number – helping create change in more communities both here in the UK and around the world.
This year's resources include videos, worship starters, posters and leaflets, providing churches with a range of options to suit every context. You can hold a Faith Will ‘moment' during a service, show the short video during coffee fellowship, include a short article in a newsletter, or circulate the Faith Will leaflets.
