Rev Alex MacCallum reflects on his first Christmas as a parish minister

Rev Alex MacCallum, minister of Kilmore and Oban, linked with Tiree, reflects on his first Christmas as a parish minister and the hope to be found in Jesus' words "Do not be afraid".

The 43-year old was was ordained as a full-time minister of Word and Sacrament and inducted into the charge in October.

He said he has been on a "wonderful whirlwind" journey for 27 years because he first had a sense that he was being called to the ministry when he was just 16 but decided to ignore it and pursue a career in the social care sector, working with the homeless, the elderly and people struggling with mental health challenges.
