On the Button - Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together
On The Button is a huge sale of vintage and collectable buttons, which will take place in Edinburgh on 6 and 7 September for Marie Curie.
There are buttons from every decade from 1850s to 1990s, which will attract serious collectors, vintage and costume enthusiasts and craft workers. There is every colour imaginable and buttons made from everything from tortoiseshell to glass, from horn to early plastic, metal, wood and pearl.
The sale will take place at St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church, 13 George Street, Edinburgh, from 10am until 4pm each day. It follows the success of the first On The Button in 2017, when £4,500 was raised for Marie Curie.
On The Button is promoted by Creative Together, part of Edinburgh City Centre Churches Together.
“From mini masterpieces to bargain basics, there’s something for everyone”
“Who would have imagined you could raise significant funds for a great cause, by selling buttons?”
Dorothy MacKenzie, from the organising group of On the Button
