Advent 2023

The theme for this year's Advent is inspired by Luke 2:10 "But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.'"

This year we are not using an online Advent calendar but will instead be sharing Advent stories from across the Church on our website and social media channels throughout this period.

The Design team have prepared some beautiful Advent social media banners, an A4 poster and A5 greetings card graphics for you to download and use as part of your own Advent activities.

Share your Advent plans with us

We'd be delighted for churches to share with us how they are sharing the Good News this Advent.

Contact us with your faith-filled, thought-provoking, uplifting and encouraging stories and photos and we will share as much as we can with the wider Church on the website and across our social media channels. We will do our best to share as much local church content as we can during December.

To share your stories with us please email our Media Relations address at mediarelations@churchofscotland.org.uk

The season of Advent is a great time to come to Church

Will you be inviting someone to join you at church this year?

Or are you thinking of coming to church for the first time this Christmas? Perhaps you used to come but haven't been for a while? You will be very welcome in the Church of Scotland!

You can use our church finder to find a church near you .

Or you can find out more, including service times and about any special festive events, by checking your local church's website, or by popping into church for a service during December.

Christmas is a great time to get involved and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We wish you every blessing for this festive season and thank all those who have journeyed with us this year.
