The remit of the Ministries Council is the enabling of ministries in every part of Scotland, giving special priority to the poorest and most marginalised, through the recruitment, training and support of recognised ministries of the Church and the assessment and monitoring of patterns of deployment of those ministries.
Following the successful promotion of the current post holder, the Council is now seeking a new Council Secretary to lead and provide robust leadership for its current and future strategies and obligations. This pivotal role demands a high level of professional integrity to deliver the demands of ministry as it is practised in the context of a national Church, underpinned with a thorough understanding of the principles behind the Council's current work. Operating at a senior level and contributing to the strategic leadership and direction of the Church of Scotland, this role promises both dynamic challenges and rewarding outcomes.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will be able to demonstrate clear and effective leadership and management skills, combined with a sound knowledge of the Church of Scotland and its structures. You will also be able to demonstrate the skills and aptitude to make difficult decisions in the face of complex and at times sensitive situations, whilst always maintaining the ethos of the Church. You will be a highly skilled communicator with the drive and enthusiasm to match your existing track record in delivering quality results and leading effective teams.
