The Moderator of the General Assembly has officially launched the season of Advent.
Rt Rev Sally Foster-Fulton said the time of waiting has begun until we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
She said nothing is impossible with God and encouraged people to believe and live that truth.
Advent is a four-week season dedicated to anticipating the arrival of Jesus Christ, the long-awaited Messiah.
Christians celebrate this time with reflections on hope, peace, love and joy.
The theme for this year's Advent is inspired by Luke 2:10 "But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.'"
Throughout the season, we'll bring you stories that highlight how church members around the country are celebrating the birth of Jesus and sharing their faith, hope and love with everyone in their communities.
